Veterans Memorial Park Association is comprised of a group of volunteers dedicated to honoring the men and women who have served in the US Armed Services.

The idea for a veterans memorial began many years ago and was guided by current committee co-chair Glenn Leach with many citizens providing support and donations along the way. Originally planned as a memorial stone to be set in Rector's Downtown Park, the project has now been expanded to include development of a dedicated park on donated land adjoining the city's new Visitors Center.

The association meets regularly and operates as a subordinate organization of Rector Downtown Central, Inc., the city's newly formed non-profit economic development and promotion arm.
